Q. Is this the same as the old Victoria International Walking Festival?

A. No. It is staged by the VIWF Society but is being recast in a simpler, more intimate style. It is purely a Volkssport sanctioned event. All walks will cost only $2 per walker and no advanced registration is required (although 'Registration of Intentions' is requested). Get-togethers each day will be informal. No awards or certificates will be presented although a limited number of Festival patches and pins will be available.

Q. I attended 7 VIWF events. Can I now get a pin with number 8 on it?

A. No, this is a brand new event.

Q. Do I need to rent a car?

A. No. Good public transport is available from all ferry docks to downtown and from downtown to Esquimalt. If, however, you do have a car plenty of free parking is available at the Archie Browning Sports Centre.

Q. Are group discounts available?

A. Since the only charge is $2 per walker (all walkers, no free walks) there will not be any reductions for groups.

Q. Do walks qualify for IML Awards?

A. No, but all are Volkssport sanctioned walks.
