THE PHOENIX RISES FROM THE BLOSSOM WALKS!
The Volkssport Clubs of South Vancouver
Island held the first
Victoria Volkssport
Phoenix Festival on
April 17th to 19th, 2009.
The Garden City Wanderers Volkssport Club, the
Victoria ‘Y’ Volkssport
Club and the Juan de Fuca Pathfinders Volkssport Club jointly hosted this
exciting reincarnation of the famous Victoria Blossom
Walks.
We were thrilled with the response to the Phoenix Festival.
Almost 350 people from all over North
America (plus one from Germany) attended and
the feedback was great. Everyone seemed to really enjoy the relaxed atmosphere,
the walks themselves, the home baking and the friendly volunteers. In addition,
we received some great ideas to make it even better next
time.
The next Phoenix Festival will be held on April
15-17, 2011. Detailed planning for the event has just begun so many of the
details are not yet known. However,
as arrangements are completed the details will be published here and
occasionally we will send out emails to Volkssport organizations and attendees
of the 2009 festival to keep you informed.
We suggest that you, also, reserve these dates in your calendar, and
watch this website for future updates.
We hope to see you in 2011!
